Patrol assigned areas to enforce fish, game, and boating laws; investigate wildlife-related damage; and collect and report biological data.
  • • Seize equipment used in fish and game law violations.
  • • Patrol assigned areas by vehicle, boat, aircraft, horse, or on foot to enforce fish, game, and boating laws and manage wildlife areas.
  • • Protect and preserve native wildlife, plants, and ecosystems.
  • • Provide and promote hunter and trapper safety training.
  • • Assist local and state law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • • Address schools, civic groups, clubs, and media on conservation and regulations.
  • • Recommend revisions to hunting, trapping, and wildlife management regulations to maintain balances and habitats.
  • • Inspect commercial operations related to fish, wildlife, recreation, and protected areas.
  • • Collect and report data on fish and wildlife populations, habitat conditions, food or cover availability, and suspected pollution.
  • • Survey areas and compile hunter bag counts to evaluate control measures.
  • • Investigate wildlife-related crop, property, or habitat damage and water pollution; advise on prevention.
  • • Design and implement control measures to prevent or counteract damage by wildlife or people.
  • • Document damage extent and prepare loss estimates or compensation recommendations.
  • • Supervise seasonal workers.
  • • Issue licenses, permits, and related documentation.
  • • Provide advice and information to park or reserve visitors.
  • • Perform facilities maintenance, including minor construction, repairs, and weed or pest control.
  • • Compile and present evidence for court actions.
  • • Investigate hunting accidents and reports of fish or game law violations.
  • • Issue warnings or citations and file required reports.
  • • Serve warrants and make arrests.
  • • Participate in search-and-rescue operations.
  • • Arrange for disposition of illegally taken or possessed fish and game.
  • • Participate in wildfire prevention and firefighting efforts.
