Description
Designs and executes investigation, cleanup, and restoration of contaminated soil, groundwater, and vapor. Leads site assessments, feasibility studies, remedial design and implementation, system O&M, and regulatory compliance to mitigate risk and achieve site closure.
- • Conduct Phase I/II site assessments, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies.
- • Develop conceptual site models and data quality objectives.
- • Design remedial action plans and engineering drawings/specifications for cleanup systems.
- • Select and evaluate treatment technologies (e.g., SVE, pump-and-treat, ISCO, bioremediation, thermal).
- • Prepare, review, and update work plans, SAPs, QAPPs, and HASPs.
- • Plan and oversee drilling, soil borings, and monitoring well installation.
- • Coordinate and perform soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor sampling.
- • Analyze and interpret environmental data; prepare investigation and closure reports.
- • Model contaminant fate and transport and remedial performance.
- • Develop cost estimates, schedules, and procurement packages for remediation projects.
- • Manage contractors and field crews; ensure quality and safety compliance.
- • Direct installation, startup, and optimization of remedial systems.
- • Operate and maintain remediation systems; track uptime and performance.
- • Monitor and report remedy effectiveness and compliance metrics.
- • Prepare waste profiles, manifests, and coordinate transportation and disposal.
- • Advise clients and agencies on cleanup strategies and regulatory pathways.
- • Serve as liaison with federal, state, and local regulators on corrective action requirements.
- • Prepare progress reports, technical memos, and presentation materials.
- • Lead public meetings or briefings on site cleanup status.
- • Provide litigation or due diligence support with technical analyses and documentation.
- • Implement vapor intrusion investigations and mitigation designs.
- • Develop spill response and contingency plans for impacted sites.
- • Train staff on field methods, safety, and compliance procedures.
- • Ensure budget tracking, forecasting, and invoice support.
- • Collaborate with geologists, hydrogeologists, toxicologists, and other specialists.
- • Attend professional training or conferences to maintain certifications.
- • Obtain and maintain permits and approvals for remediation and discharge.
- • Assess and mitigate construction impacts during remediation or redevelopment.
- • Maintain project documentation, databases, and GIS mapping.
