Research, design, plan, and execute engineering solutions to prevent, control, and remediate environmental hazards across air, water, and soil, including waste treatment, site remediation, and pollution control technologies.
  • • Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
  • • Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
  • • Provide technical support for remediation and litigation projects, including system design and regulatory applicability.
  • • Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs.
  • • Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs to assess effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • • Provide project support by collecting data, documenting, training staff, and other administrative duties.
  • • Develop project objectives and targets and report progress to management.
  • • Advise corporations and government agencies on contaminated site cleanup procedures.
  • • Advise industries and agencies on environmental policies and standards.
  • • Inform employees and stakeholders about environmental issues.
  • • Assess actual or potential environmental impacts of land use on air, water, and soil.
  • • Assist with budget implementation, forecasting, and administration.

  • • Coordinate and manage environmental protection programs or projects, assigning and evaluating work.
  • • Serve as liaison with federal, state, and local officials on solid and hazardous waste requirements.
  • • Prepare hazardous waste manifests and land disposal restriction notifications.
  • • Develop and deliver environmental compliance training and orientations.
  • • Develop, implement, and manage plans and programs for conservation and natural resource management.
  • • Assess, sort, characterize, and pack known or unknown materials.
  • • Request bids from suppliers and consultants.
  • • Provide environmental engineering support for network and regulatory analyses or for planning and reviewing database development.
  • • Design, or supervise the design of, systems, processes, and equipment to control, manage, or remediate water, air, and soil quality.
  • • Direct installation and operation of environmental monitoring devices and supervise related data collection.
  • • Prepare and present public briefings on environmental engineering project status.
  • • Write reports or articles for websites or newsletters on environmental engineering issues.
  • • Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, and legal or business specialists to solve environmental problems.
  • • Support planning, quality assurance, safety protocols, and sampling for multimedia inspections at complex facilities.
  • • Prepare, maintain, and revise quality assurance documentation and procedures.
  • • Attend professional conferences to share information.
