Description
Plan, manage, and perform drywall and related interior systems work on residential and commercial projects. Oversee layout, framing, hanging, and coordination of finishing, insulation, and fire- and sound-rated assemblies, with optional acoustical ceilings. Handle estimating, scheduling, procurement, crew supervision, safety, and code compliance to deliver quality installations on time.
- • Read plans and specifications to determine scope, assemblies, and installation methods.
- • Field-verify dimensions and lay out walls, ceilings, and openings using tapes, lasers, and chalk lines.
- • Estimate labor, materials, and equipment; prepare bids and change orders.
- • Schedule crews, equipment, and deliveries; coordinate sequencing with the general contractor and other trades.
- • Procure drywall, studs, fasteners, insulation, and accessories; manage inventory and staging.
- • Install or supervise installation of metal or wood studs and tracks for partitions and ceilings.
- • Cut, fit, and fasten gypsum board to framing with screws, nails, or adhesives.
- • Measure and cut openings for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, doors, and windows.
- • Establish control lines and elevations for framing and suspended systems.
- • Hang drywall panels on walls and ceilings, using lifts or hoists as needed.
- • Trim edges and align panels to maintain even joints for finishing.
- • Install furring, channels, and hat track to substrates per plans.
- • Inspect substrates and framing for plumb, level, and spacing; correct deficiencies.
- • Coordinate and schedule drywall finishers; verify taping and finishing quality.
- • Install insulation, sound attenuation blankets, and vapor barriers as specified.
- • Install lath, fireproofing substrates, and specialty backers where required.
- • Install suspended ceiling grids and acoustical panels when included in scope.
- • Seal perimeters, penetrations, and joints, ensuring firestopping and acoustical seals meet code and specifications.
- • Prepare and submit submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings; maintain project documentation.
- • Enforce site safety and OSHA compliance; conduct toolbox talks and monitor PPE use.
- • Coordinate inspections for framing and rated assemblies; address punch lists.
- • Maintain and service tools, lifts, and scaffolding; ensure proper use by crews.
- • Remove existing drywall, lath, or paneling and dispose of debris per regulations.
- • Train and supervise installers and subcontractors; perform quality control inspections.
- • Track job costs and productivity; approve timesheets and invoices.
- • Protect adjacent finishes and implement dust control measures.
