Description
Perform concrete placement, finishing, and formwork at construction sites. Operate hand and power tools such as screeds, vibrators, trowels, mixers, concrete saws, and small hoists. Prepare subgrades, set and brace forms, place reinforcement and embeds, pour and consolidate concrete, finish surfaces, and cure and protect work. Clean and maintain tools and sites, assist other craft workers, and follow safety and quality standards.
  • • Prepare and maintain concrete work areas, removing debris and hazards.
  • • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine concrete layout, elevations, and finishes.
  • • Set up barricades, signage, and perimeter controls for concrete operations.
  • • Signal pump trucks, crane operators, and equipment to align chutes, buckets, and materials.
  • • Excavate, grade, and compact subbase to elevation and slope requirements.
  • • Set, align, brace, and strip concrete forms and shoring.
  • • Place, tie, and secure reinforcing steel, mesh, dowels, and anchor bolts.
  • • Lay out form lines, elevations, and control joints using tapes, lasers, and levels.
  • • Load, unload, and stage forms, rebar, embeds, and finishing tools per plans.
  • • Install vapor barriers, edge forms, keyways, and embedded items.
  • • Mix, place, and consolidate concrete using mixers, buckets, chutes, pumps, and vibrators.
  • • Screed, float, trowel, and edge concrete surfaces to specified finish.
  • • Cut and tool control and expansion joints at required spacing and depth.
  • • Cure and protect concrete using water, coverings, compounds, heaters, or blankets.
  • • Operate, clean, and maintain power trowels, screeds, vibrators, and other finishing tools.
  • • Operate concrete saws, drills, or breakers to cut, core, or remove concrete as required.
  • • Grind, patch, or polish concrete surfaces for repair or finish.
  • • Apply form release, curing compounds, sealers, or bonding agents to surfaces.
  • • Tend pumps, generators, or compressors to power tools or support cold or hot weather concreting.
  • • Perform basic concrete quality checks, such as slump, air, and temperature; make test cylinders as directed.
  • • Install and seal joints with backer rod, sealant, or caulking.
  • • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, hoists, or access platforms for concrete work.
  • • Maintain tools and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and making minor repairs.
  • • Implement washout control, waste segregation, and erosion controls per green practices.
  • • Assist carpenters, masons, and finishers as needed.
  • • Spray water or sealers to control dust and protect finishes.
