Description
Plan, direct, and coordinate payroll operations and employee benefits administration to deliver accurate, timely pay and compliant, competitive programs.
- • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate, timely pay for all employees.
- • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour laws and payroll tax requirements.
- • Manage payroll tax filings and year-end reporting, including Forms 941, W-2/W-3, and state returns.
- • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- • Lead open enrollment, vendor renewals, and benefits communications.
- • Design, evaluate, and update benefits policies to remain competitive and legally compliant (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).
- • Reconcile payroll and benefits deductions; coordinate GL posting and month-end close.
- • Maintain and optimize payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS systems; manage integrations with finance and benefit carriers.
- • Develop and maintain payroll and benefits SOPs, controls, and calendars.
- • Advise management on pay practices, garnishments, leaves, and benefits compliance.
- • Respond to employee inquiries on pay, time, and benefits; resolve issues with carriers and vendors.
- • Manage relationships and contracts with payroll providers, brokers, carriers, COBRA and retirement administrators.
- • Conduct internal audits and ensure data accuracy; remediate discrepancies.
- • Prepare budgets and forecasts for payroll and benefits costs; analyze trends and variances.
- • Provide reports and dashboards on headcount, overtime, benefits participation, and costs.
- • Support bonus, commission, and equity transactions, ensuring accurate taxation and reporting of imputed income.
- • Coordinate leaves of absence and disability pay, ensuring accurate pay and benefits continuation.
- • Support due diligence and integration of payroll and benefits in mergers and acquisitions.
- • Ensure fulfillment of ERISA and retirement plan requirements, including nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500 support.
- • Supervise payroll and benefits staff and coordinate cross-functional workflows with HR, Finance, and Legal.
