Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Communication who teaches courses in areas such as organizational communication, public relations, broadcasting, and journalism; develops a productive research agenda and contributes to departmental and university service.
  • • Prepare and deliver lectures and multimedia lessons on topics such as public speaking, media criticism, public relations, and journalism.
  • • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom and online discussions.
  • • Prepare syllabi, assignments, rubrics, and course handouts.
  • • Evaluate and grade class work, assignments, projects, and papers.
  • • Create, administer, and grade examinations or oversee grading by teaching assistants.
  • • Maintain attendance, grades, and other required records.
  • • Develop and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods.
  • • Incorporate inclusive pedagogy and current communication technologies.
  • • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
  • • Advise students on academic pathways, internships, and careers.
  • • Supervise undergraduate research, internships, and teaching assistants; co-supervise graduate projects where appropriate.
  • • Select and order textbooks, software, and instructional materials.
  • • Conduct original research in communication and publish in peer-reviewed outlets.
  • • Present research at academic and professional conferences.
  • • Seek external and internal funding through grant proposals.
  • • Collaborate with colleagues on research, teaching initiatives, and program assessment.
  • • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and placement activities.
  • • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
  • • Advise or mentor student organizations and media clubs.
  • • Engage in campus and community outreach and service.
  • • Provide professional consulting or expert commentary as appropriate.
  • • Stay current with scholarly and industry developments in communication.
