Description
Lead planning and execution of cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties for reuse, overseeing consultants, contractors, permitting, and stakeholder coordination. Excludes properties sufficiently contaminated to qualify as Superfund sites.
- • Review and evaluate environmental remediation proposals.
- • Review designs for contaminant treatment and waste disposal systems.
- • Provide or coordinate training on hazardous materials cleanup procedures and technologies.
- • Serve as an expert witness on soil, air, or water contamination and cleanup measures.
- • Prepare reports and presentations on redevelopment needs, status, and outcomes.
- • Negotiate and manage contracts for remediation and redevelopment services and materials.
- • Oversee preparation and submission of permits for demolition, remediation, and construction.
- • Maintain comprehensive project records, decisions, and progress.
- • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and monitor cleanup and redevelopment progress.
- • Plan and manage brownfield redevelopment projects to meet safety, quality, schedule, budget, and compliance requirements.
- • Oversee site assessments to identify sources of environmental contamination.
- • Develop budgets and cost estimates for cleanup and redevelopment.
- • Oversee site restoration and revegetation plans.
- • Coordinate surface and groundwater remediation plans with engineers and regulators.
- • Manage structural demolition and debris removal activities.
- • Direct measures to improve water, air, and soil quality at contaminated sites.
- • Commission and review environmental restoration studies.
- • Coordinate compliant hazardous waste handling, transport, and disposal.
- • Coordinate on-site cleanup activities to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
- • Manage or review quantitative risk assessments for human health and environmental risks.
- • Lead feasibility and cost-benefit analyses for remediation and redevelopment alternatives.
- • Develop sustainable regeneration plans that deliver environmental, economic, and social benefits for brownfield areas.
- • Secure project funding through grants, incentives, and public-private partnerships.
