Load, unload, sort, and transport baggage at airports and transportation terminals, ensuring accurate tracking, safe handling, and on-time transfer.
- • Load and unload baggage to and from aircraft, belts, carts, and vehicles.
- • Sort bags by flight, destination, and priority in bag rooms and at carousels.
- • Verify bag tags and scan barcodes or RFID to track transfers.
- • Transport baggage between terminals, gates, and aircraft using carts and ULDs.
- • Build, stack, and secure bags and ULDs according to load plans and weight-and-balance limits.
- • Operate ground service equipment safely, including tugs, belt loaders, and dollies.
- • Weigh and route oversize, overweight, and priority items per airline procedures.
- • Handle mobility aids, fragile, and special items following handling protocols.
- • Assist at baggage claim by staging bags and answering basic passenger inquiries.
- • Keep ramps, bag rooms, and carousels clean and free of debris and hazards.
- • Coordinate with gate, ramp, and baggage service teams to meet arrival and departure times.
- • Adhere to TSA, FAA, and airline security rules; report suspicious or restricted items.
- • Record load counts, handling times, and irregularities in logs or mobile systems.
- • Inspect luggage for damage and report discrepancies or hazardous contents.
- • Retrieve and deliver delayed or misrouted baggage to claim areas or baggage service offices.
- • Support lost-and-found and claims by documenting tag numbers and incidents.
- • Clear conveyor jams safely and restart systems per procedures.
