Description
Teach undergraduate courses and labs in agricultural sciences (e.g., agronomy, horticulture, soil science, animal and plant systems). Develop and deliver practice-based instruction, assess student learning, advise and mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development and departmental service. Role is teaching-focused with limited involvement in research or grant activity.
- • Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, lab manuals, and course materials.
- • Deliver lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on labs and field exercises.
- • Evaluate and grade coursework, labs, projects, and exams.
- • Compile, administer, and proctor examinations.
- • Maintain LMS sites, attendance, grades, and required records.
- • Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom and online discussions.
- • Supervise laboratory and field sessions and ensure safety compliance.
- • Coordinate laboratory operations, supplies, and equipment.
- • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods.
- • Advise students on academic planning, internships, and career pathways.
- • Mentor undergraduate teaching assistants and internship students.
- • Hold regular office hours to advise and assist students.
- • Stay current with advances in agricultural science and pedagogy.
- • Collaborate with colleagues on teaching practices, scheduling, and assessment.
- • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, and retention activities.
- • Serve on departmental or college committees related to teaching and student success.
- • Participate in campus and community outreach events.
- • Act as adviser to relevant student clubs and organizations.
- • Select and obtain textbooks, software, and instructional materials.
- • Develop and implement assessment of student learning outcomes and report results.
- • Organize site visits, field trips, and other experiential learning opportunities.
- • Support program accreditation and continuous improvement efforts.
