Description
Support actuarial analyses by cleaning and analyzing data, building basic models, and preparing reports under supervision. Assist with pricing, reserving, and risk assessments, helping develop rate indications and cash reserve estimates while learning insurance products, tools, and regulatory requirements.
  • • Compile, clean, and validate statistical data for mortality, morbidity, claims, and exposures.
  • • Assist in constructing probability tables and experience studies under guidance.
  • • Perform preliminary analyses to estimate loss, mortality, sickness, disability, and retirement rates.
  • • Help calculate premium rate indications and contribute to reserve analyses with supervision.
  • • Build and maintain Excel, SQL, or actuarial software models for pricing and reserving tasks.
  • • Prepare exhibits, dashboards, and documentation for actuarial reports and management presentations.
  • • Support design and review of insurance, annuity, or pension products by running scenarios and testing assumptions.
  • • Collaborate with underwriters, finance, data teams, and IT to gather requirements and resolve data issues.
  • • Assist with regulatory and rate filing materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency of actuarial content.
  • • Conduct reasonableness checks and peer reviews of analyses, models, and results.
  • • Help update assumptions, inputs, and methodologies based on new data or guidance from senior actuaries.
  • • Automate recurring processes and quality checks to improve efficiency and controls.
  • • Respond to ad hoc data and analysis requests from actuarial and business partners.
  • • Maintain documentation, workpapers, and audit trails consistent with professional standards.
  • • Participate in meetings and communicate findings clearly, escalating issues and risks as needed.
