Description
Diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients by designing, fabricating, and fitting dental and maxillofacial prostheses to restore oral function, health, and aesthetics.
- • Examine patients to diagnose oral health conditions and diseases.
- • Measure and take impressions of patients' jaws and teeth to determine prosthesis shape and size, using face bows, articulators, recording devices, and related materials.
- • Design and fabricate dental prostheses, or supervise dental technicians and laboratory personnel constructing them.
- • Fit prostheses to patients and make necessary adjustments and modifications.
- • Replace missing teeth and associated oral structures with implant-supported prostheses, crowns and bridges, or removable dentures.
- • Repair, reline, or rebase dentures.
- • Restore function and aesthetics for patients with traumatic injuries, diseases, or congenital conditions.
- • Use bonding techniques on tooth surfaces to change shape or close gaps.
- • Diagnose and treat facial pain and temporomandibular joint disorders.
- • Place veneers to conceal defects.
- • Bleach discolored teeth to brighten and whiten them.
- • Collaborate with general dentists, specialists, and other health professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
