Description
Provide patient-centered medical care in collaboration with a supervising physician. Perform histories and physicals, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, order and interpret tests, and counsel patients. May prescribe medications per state law and delegation. Requires graduation from an accredited PA program and appropriate licensure/certification.
  • • Obtain medical histories and perform comprehensive or focused physical examinations.
  • • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, ECGs, and imaging.
  • • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • • Document histories, examinations, assessments, and plans in the medical record.
  • • Prescribe medications and therapies per state regulations and supervising physician agreements.
  • • Perform procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
  • • Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive health.
  • • Assist physicians during surgery or complex medical procedures as needed.
  • • Round on inpatients or conduct follow-up visits, update charts, and coordinate care.
  • • Supervise and coordinate activities of medical assistants and technicians within scope.
  • • Arrange referrals, consultations, and transitions of care.
  • • Manage and order medical and laboratory supplies and equipment.
