Description
Support pharmacy operations by recording delivered drugs, storing incoming merchandise, and notifying the pharmacist or supervisor of stock needs. Operate the register, accept prescriptions for filling, and perform routine clerical and customer service tasks.
  • • Accept prescriptions for filling and gather required patient and insurance information.
  • • Answer phone calls and route clinical questions to the pharmacist.
  • • Greet customers and assist them in locating over-the-counter merchandise.
  • • Unpack, sort, count, and label incoming merchandise, including items requiring refrigeration.
  • • Prepare and print prescription labels using pharmacy software under supervision.
  • • Operate the cash register to process cash and credit transactions.
  • • Restock shelves and storage areas.
  • • Perform clerical duties such as filing, maintaining prescription records, and composing correspondence.
  • • Clean and maintain equipment, counters, and shelves.
  • • Maintain records of inventories, receipts, purchases, and deliveries using computer systems.
  • • Assist with processing medical insurance claims, posting charges, and calculating copayments.
  • • Deliver filled medications to designated areas within the facility, when applicable.
  • • Receive, store, and inventory medications and supplies, check for expired items, and notify the pharmacist when stock is low.
