Description
Plan, develop, and deliver interpretive programs that inform visitors about the park’s natural, cultural, and scientific resources; provide visitor services; support resource protection and safety; and collaborate with staff to operate facilities and public events.
  • • Provide visitor services, including explaining regulations, answering questions and complaints, and sharing park and area information.
  • • Lead guided hikes and field trips highlighting natural, cultural, and scientific features.
  • • Prepare and deliver illustrated talks and interpretive presentations.
  • • Perform emergency duties to protect visitors, property, and natural resources.
  • • Coordinate with park staff to set program topics, schedules, and logistics.
  • • Assist with daily operations of visitor centers and contact stations.
  • • Recruit, schedule, and direct seasonal staff and volunteers.
  • • Perform light maintenance on interpretive sites, trails, and facilities.
  • • Write and edit brochures, web content, and news releases.
  • • Design and build interpretive exhibits and displays.
  • • Research local natural history, ecology, and cultural stories for programs.
  • • Consult subject-matter experts to develop accurate program content.
  • • Compile and maintain interpretive files, archives, and media assets.
  • • Photograph and film park resources and programs for education and outreach.
  • • Survey park resources to document conditions, habitats, and species presence.
  • • Plan, produce, and maintain audio-visual materials and digital media.
  • • Plan and host public events, festivals, and community programs.
  • • Develop environmental education curricula for schools and youth programs.
  • • Train staff and volunteers on interpretive techniques and program content.
  • • Provide humane care and handling for program animals, following protocols.
