Description
Interview customers seeking to rent safe deposit boxes; explain box options, fees, and policies; verify identification; prepare rental agreements; collect fees and deposits; issue and control keys; admit renters to the vault; and maintain accurate records in compliance with security procedures.
  • • Answer customer questions and explain safe deposit box sizes, fees, terms, access rules, and liability limits.
  • • Interview customers and collect required identification and documentation for box rentals.
  • • Prepare and process rental agreements, add or remove authorized users, and obtain signatures and disclosures.
  • • Enter renter information, box assignments, and billing details into bank systems and file records.
  • • Collect rental fees, key deposits, and other charges; issue receipts.
  • • Issue initial and replacement keys and maintain key inventory and custody logs.
  • • Admit renters to the vault, verify IDs and signatures, and escort them per security procedures.
  • • Maintain access logs and audit trails and reconcile box inventory and status.
  • • Investigate and correct billing, access, or record discrepancies per bank policy.
  • • Schedule and coordinate lock repairs, rekeying, and drill-outs with approved vendors.
  • • Process box closings, key surrenders, refunds, and box transfers.
  • • Handle lost key, delinquent rent, and unclaimed property procedures and notifications.
  • • Respond to legal requests, such as court orders or estate access, and escalate to compliance.
  • • Refer customers to appropriate staff for other banking services or complex needs.
  • • Adhere to dual-control, security, and privacy policies and support vault opening/closing routines.
  • • Prepare and distribute required reports and duplicate records to branch operations or compliance.
