Teach academic foundations and social-emotional skills to kindergarten students as the lead classroom teacher, fostering a safe, engaging environment and readiness for later grades.
  • • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • • Teach foundational skills (color, shape, number and letter recognition), along with personal hygiene and social skills.
  • • Establish and enforce classroom rules, procedures, and routines to maintain order.
  • • Observe and assess students' performance, behavior, social development, and health.
  • • Differentiate instruction for individuals and groups to meet diverse needs and interests.
  • • Read aloud to the whole class and small groups to build literacy.
  • • Model activities and learning tasks for children.
  • • Provide varied materials and resources for exploration, manipulation, and imaginative play.

  • • Set up and maintain classrooms and play spaces for creative, motor, and safe learning activities.
  • • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop, evaluate, and refine kindergarten programs.
  • • Create, administer, and assess tests and assignments to monitor learning.
  • • Meet with specialists and other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress.
  • • Organize, label, and display materials and student work appropriately.
  • • Co-plan and schedule lessons with staff, following approved curricula.
  • • Supervise, coach, and assign tasks to teacher assistants and volunteers.
  • • Administer and interpret standardized assessments to determine developmental levels and needs.
  • • Prepare lesson plans and show documentation upon request from supervisors.
  • • Integrate computers, audiovisual tools, and other materials to enhance instruction.
  • • Plan and supervise projects, field trips, guest visits, and other experiential learning.
  • • Engage parent volunteers and older students to support focused, complex play.
  • • Attend professional meetings, conferences, and training to maintain competence.
  • • Perform school duties such as library help, hall and cafeteria monitoring, and bus duty.
  • • Select, order, store, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • • Coordinate accommodations and assistive technology to support students with disabilities' access to learning and facilities.
