Description
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and control systems at customer sites. Apply electrical and electronic theory under the direction of engineering and service management to diagnose faults, replace and calibrate components, implement updates and adjustments, and verify compliance with specifications and safety codes. Document work, train users, and relay field findings to engineering to support product reliability and design decisions.
  • • Install, commission, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic equipment and control systems at customer sites.
  • • Diagnose faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, network tools, and other test equipment.
  • • Replace or repair defective components, wiring, and connectors using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions; coordinate with OEMs or vendors to procure replacement parts.
  • • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and adjustments to ensure reliable operation.
  • • Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, variable frequency drives, HMIs, and related control hardware.
  • • Integrate hardware, firmware, and software updates per engineering change orders.
  • • Assemble, rework, or retrofit field assemblies and cable harnesses according to specifications.
  • • Conduct site surveys, power and grounding checks, and environmental readiness assessments before installation.
  • • Maintain accurate service tickets, logs, and maintenance records documenting tests, parts used, and corrective actions.
  • • Educate operators and customer staff on safe operation, care, and basic troubleshooting.
  • • Supervise or coordinate third-party installers and electricians during equipment installation or moves.
  • • Verify installations meet design specifications, safety regulations, and applicable electrical codes.
  • • Interpret test data to isolate root causes and recommend corrective actions or design feedback.
  • • Provide remote and on-site technical support for commissioning, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • • Prepare parts lists, RMAs, and quotations; manage vehicle stock and site spares inventory.
  • • Research parts availability, lead times, and costs to support repairs and upgrades.
  • • Estimate labor and materials for service work and plan schedules to meet SLAs.
  • • Execute quality control checks and functional tests after repair or installation.
  • • Use CAD or digital tools to mark up as-built drawings and update wiring changes.
  • • Install, terminate, and test control circuits, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
  • • Adhere to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and arc-flash practices; maintain compliance documentation.
  • • Participate in training and certifications to stay current with products, codes, and industry advances.
  • • Escalate recurring issues and field observations to engineering for product improvements.
  • • Travel to customer locations as scheduled and provide timely status updates to stakeholders.
  • • Review and suggest updates to maintenance procedures and service documentation based on field performance.
  • • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
