Description
Supervise and mentor youth in juvenile detention or residential rehabilitation facilities, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with regulations while supporting education, treatment, and positive behavior change. Monitor and escort residents on and off site, maintain records, and coordinate with courts, families, and service providers. Use trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices and approved restraint techniques to prevent escape and violence.
- • Control facility entrances and screen visitors, including parents and service providers.
- • Conduct intake and orientation; explain rules in age-appropriate terms.
- • Escort youth to school, programs, court, medical, and visitation areas.
- • Monitor resident conduct during housing, school, work, and recreation to prevent escape or violence.

- • Use facility software, radios, cameras, and other nondisciplinary equipment.
- • Participate in required training, including PREA, adolescent development, and CPR/first aid.
