Description
Construct, install, and repair wooden and light-frame structures and fixtures in buildings. Measure, cut, and assemble materials to plans, operate carpentry tools and equipment, and ensure work meets codes, specifications, and safety standards.
  • • Construct, install, and repair building frameworks, partitions, stairs, and other structures.
  • • Measure, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, and composites to specification.
  • • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and code requirements to plan work.
  • • Lay out dimensions on sites and materials using levels, lasers, and measuring tools.
  • • Set up and operate power saws, planers, routers, nailers, and other carpentry tools.
  • • Install doors, windows, frames, trim, molding, and cabinetry.
  • • Erect, align, and brace walls, floors, and roof systems; verify plumb, level, and square.
  • • Attach subassemblies and hardware using nails, screws, adhesives, and fasteners.
  • • Reinforce joints and connections to meet structural and finish requirements.
  • • Build and set concrete forms and install embedded anchors when required.
  • • Install sheathing, subflooring, decking, and siding.
  • • Verify dimensions, clearances, and fit to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • • Cut openings and bore or countersink holes for utilities, hardware, and fixtures.
  • • Trim, plane, sand, or scrape surfaces and edges for proper fit and finish.
  • • Match materials and finishes for color, grain, and durability.
  • • Repair or replace damaged framing, finishes, fixtures, or millwork.
  • • Install and adjust hardware such as hinges, locks, handles, and drawer slides.
  • • Estimate quantities, types, and costs of materials and labor.
  • • Maintain jobsite safety, housekeeping, and tool maintenance.
  • • Coordinate with clients and trades; discuss scope, specifications, and schedules.
