Description
Support the meat department by stocking, wrapping, pricing, and merchandising meat products, assisting customers, and maintaining sanitation and food safety; assist meat cutters with basic prep and special orders.
- • Wrap, weigh, label, and price meat products.
- • Stock and rotate products in service and self-serve cases using FIFO.
- • Merchandise displays to keep cases clean, full, and attractive.
- • Assist customers with product selection, cooking suggestions, and special orders; coordinate custom cuts with meat cutters.
- • Receive deliveries, check temperatures and dates, and store product to maintain quality.
- • Portion and package pre-cut meats and value-added items per department standards.
- • Operate scales, slicers, and wrapping equipment safely; follow HACCP and store safety procedures.
- • Maintain sanitation of work areas, utensils, and equipment; complete cleaning schedules and case breakdowns.
- • Monitor inventory levels, pull out-of-date items, record shrink, and notify supervisor of replenishment needs.
- • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and labeling, including required regulatory information.
- • Complete temperature logs and basic records for receiving, production, and sales as required.
