Apply engineering and biological sciences to design, test, and manage agricultural machinery, electrification, structures, soil and water conservation, and agricultural product processing.
  • • Advise on water quality, pollution management, river control, and ground and surface water resources.
  • • Conduct educational programs for farmers and cooperatives to improve productivity.
  • • Review plans with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineers to refine designs.
  • • Supervise food processing or manufacturing plant operations.
  • • Design and oversee environmental and land reclamation projects for agricultural sites.
  • • Plan and direct construction of rural electric power distribution, irrigation, drainage, and flood control systems.
  • • Design food processing plants and related mechanical systems.
  • • Prepare reports, drawings, specifications, proposals, and budgets for sites and systems.
  • • Visit project sites to assess environmental issues, consult with contractors, and monitor construction.
  • • Design agricultural machinery and components using CAD.
  • • Test machinery and equipment to verify performance and safety.
  • • Design crop storage, animal housing and loading, and processing structures, and oversee construction.
  • • Meet with clients, including district or regional councils, farmers, and developers, to discuss needs.
  • • Design sensing, measuring, and recording devices and other instrumentation to study plant or animal life.
